what we believe
We are a part of the Grace Presbyterian Church of New Zealand.
There are currently 21 churches in this denomination in New Zealand. Our main distinctive as a church is our passion for clear Bible truth and reformed faith to be made known to our current generation.
In grace alone as the only way to be made right with God through the free gift of Jesus’ forgiveness.
In faith alone as the only means of receiving grace. We cannot earn forgiveness; it is only available through faith in Jesus Christ.
In Christ alone as the only grounds of God’s saving grace. The life, death and resurrection of Christ is the means by which God has provided a way for us to have a relationship with Him.
In Scripture alone as the only infallible authority for belief
God’s glory alone is the ultimate and only fulfilling purpose for the lives of men and women.

Our ultimate goal is to bring God glory. This is the reason and end to which we exist.
Soli Deo Gloria
We understand the gospel is not just the A-B-C’s but the A-Z of Christianity. It is not only though it we enter the kingdom but it is also through we make progress. It is all God’s salvation plans, through Jesus, from beginning to end. We need to apply the gospel to every area of life, and let it implications impact our whole reality. We need to believe it deeply, thoroughly and completely, all our problems come from failing to apply the gospel.
We believe that Jesus changes people from the inside out. He liberates us and gives us a radical new identity, status and purpose. Jesus is reflected as it works in our lives, we embody Him in this world as we live with daring sacrifice, bold love, kingdom focus and a passion for God and those who bear His image.
Jesus creates a new community, not only for worship, nurture and witness but also to show the world how a community should live. Our desire is to see deep love, radical service, kingdom purpose and orientation are to permeate us as a community of the King. People of Grace connected by the gospel and committed to each other because of the gospel.
City & Campus
Our vision is as lives are transformed by the gospel so is the neighbourhoods, workplaces, student community, homes, flats in which our people live. The gospel brings together diverse people under a glorious king, and they in turn reflect the King to the city & campus as light and salt. The gospel is about people from all different backgrounds, races etc living for the cause of the King. We want to be an influence for Christ in our city.
We are committed to God’s work of grace at a local, regional, national and international level. Firstly through our sister churches as they promote change through gospel truth and secondly through all churches that proclaim the radical gospel of Divine grace. We long to see a movement of grace that brings renewal. We want to do all we can for this end.
At Grace, for the glory of God, we want to be a community of people with lives transformed by Jesus, and as are part of a movement of His gospel/kingdom through Dunedin, Otago & Southland, New Zealand and our world.
